The MILWAUKEE 49-57-1562 is a threaded Steel Hawg annular cutter designed for fast, clean hole cutting in metal. It uses carbide teeth arranged in an alternating cutting pattern to cut holes up to 2 inches deep in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum. The cutter produces holes up to 3 times faster than twist drill bits. A spring-loaded, self-ejecting pin serves as both a centering pin and a plug ejector, improving cut accuracy and reducing downtime between holes. The 3/4-inch shank uses a metric thread size of M18 x 1.5. Weighing 0.47 pounds, this cutter is compatible with most electromagnetic drill presses and is installed by electricians, ironworkers, and mechanical contractors.
This annular cutter is suited for metal fabrication, structural steel work, and mechanical or electrical trade applications requiring precise, repeatable hole cutting in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It is designed for use in residential and commercial jobsite settings where electromagnetic or magnetic drill presses are the primary tool. Compatible arbors allow it to work with Milwaukee magnetic drill press models. The alternating tooth geometry makes it particularly effective for production drilling in steel plate or pipe where hole quality and throughput matter.
Compatible with most electromagnetic drill presses. For use with arbor 49-57-0030 on the Milwaukee 4262-1 magnetic drill press, arbor 49-57-0010 on the Milwaukee 4292-1 mag press, and No. 3 Morse taper arbor assembly 49-57-0010.
Installation is performed by electricians, ironworkers, pipefitters, or mechanical contractors using a compatible electromagnetic drill press. Ensure the magnetic base is fully energized and seated on a clean, flat metal surface before beginning a cut. Always use the appropriate arbor for the press model and verify the cutter is fully threaded and locked into the arbor before operation. Follow all applicable OSHA and tool manufacturer safety guidelines when operating magnetic drill presses.
