The MILWAUKEE 49-57-1312 is a threaded Steel Hawg annular cutter designed for fast, accurate hole-cutting in metal. It uses carbide teeth arranged in an alternating cutting pattern to cut holes up to 2 inches deep at diameters of 1-5/16 inches. The M18 x 1.5 metric threaded shank mounts to compatible electromagnetic drill press arbors. A spring-loaded, self-ejecting pilot pin serves as both a centering pin and a plug-ejector, reducing cycle time between cuts. Electricians, ironworkers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors use this cutter when cutting structural steel, stainless steel, cast iron, or aluminum on-site or in a fab shop.
This cutter is suited for trade applications where twist drill bits are too slow or produce poor-quality holes in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Typical use cases include conduit knockout work in electrical panels, pipe penetrations through structural steel, and fabrication tasks requiring clean, burr-minimized holes. The 2-inch cutting depth accommodates thick plate and structural members commonly encountered in commercial and industrial settings. It is compatible with most electromagnetic drill presses that accept a threaded annular cutter interface.
Compatible with Milwaukee arbor 49-57-0030 on the Milwaukee 4262-1 magnetic drill press and with arbor 49-57-0010 on the Milwaukee 4292-1 mag press. Also compatible with No. 3 Morse taper arbor assembly 49-57-0010. Fits most electromagnetic drill presses accepting a threaded annular cutter interface.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified tradesperson familiar with magnetic drill press operation. Secure the electromagnetic drill press firmly to the workpiece and verify the base magnet is fully engaged before beginning a cut. Power down and de-energize the drill press before changing cutters or arbors. Apply cutting oil to the cutter and workpiece to extend tool life and improve cut quality.
