The MILWAUKEE 49-57-1000 is a threaded Steel Hawg annular cutter designed for fast, clean hole cutting in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It cuts a 1-inch diameter hole up to 2 inches deep in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum. The cutter uses carbide teeth arranged in an alternating tooth form geometry, which accelerates material removal and extends service life compared to conventional twist drill bits. A spring-loaded, self-ejecting pilot pin serves as both a centering guide and a plug ejector, improving cut accuracy and reducing cycle time. Licensed electricians, pipefitters, ironworkers, and mechanical contractors use this cutter with electromagnetic or magnetic drill presses on structural and plate steel applications.
This annular cutter is suited for residential and commercial metalworking tasks where a clean, burr-minimized through-hole is required in steel plate, tube, or structural shapes. It is compatible with magnetic drill presses using a No. 3 Morse taper arbor assembly. For Milwaukee magnetic drill presses, use arbor 49-57-0030 with the 4262-1 model or arbor 49-57-0010 with the 4292-1 model. The M18 x 1.5 metric threaded shank connects directly to compatible threaded arbors without adapters.
Compatible with Milwaukee magnetic drill press models 4262-1 using arbor 49-57-0030 and 4292-1 using arbor 49-57-0010. Also fits most electromagnetic drill presses accepting a No. 3 Morse taper arbor assembly 49-57-0010 or M18 x 1.5 threaded arbors.
Installation and use of this cutter should be performed by qualified tradespeople familiar with magnetic drill press operation. Before mounting or changing the cutter, de-energize the drill press and secure the workpiece to prevent movement. Ensure the arbor and shank threads are clean and fully engaged before operation. Eye protection and appropriate PPE are required when cutting metal.
