The MILWAUKEE 49-57-0689 is a quick change tang drive annular cutter designed for high-speed hole cutting in metal. Known as the Steel Hawg cutter, it features carbide teeth arranged in an alternating cutting pattern that delivers fast, clean material removal without the need for pre-punching or pilot holes. It cuts holes up to 1 inch deep in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum, producing a ream-like finish on the finished hole. Weighing 0.28 pounds, it is a lightweight tool suited for field and shop use by licensed electricians, ironworkers, and mechanical contractors.
This annular cutter is intended for use with electromagnetic drill presses in both residential and commercial construction applications. It is compatible with arbor 49-57-0012 or 49-57-0013 on Milwaukee 4292-1 or 4297-1 magnetic drill presses, and with arbor 49-57-0032 on Milwaukee 4262-1 magnetic drill presses. The quick change tang drive allows fast cutter swaps, reducing downtime when working through multiple hole sizes on the same job. It is also rated for use with No. 3 Morse taper arbor assembly 49-57-0010 and the 4252 Steel Hawg drill press.

Installation and use should be performed by qualified tradespeople familiar with magnetic drill press operation and metal cutting safety practices. Always disconnect power to the magnetic drill press before changing cutters. Secure the workpiece properly before engaging the drill press magnet and beginning a cut. Follow the drill press manufacturer guidance for recommended cutting speeds and lubrication when cutting stainless steel or cast iron.
