The MILWAUKEE 49-22-8400 is a 6-piece annular cutter set engineered for fast, clean hole-making in mild steel applications ranging from sheet metal to thick steel plate. Built with dual alternating tooth geometry and thin-wall construction, the set cuts up to 15% faster than standard annular cutters by displacing less material per pass. Each cutter is manufactured from proprietary high-speed steel with three hardness zones designed to minimize breakage and extend service life. All six cutters feature a 3/4-inch Weldon shank and a 1-inch cutting depth. The kit ships with a 1-inch pilot bit (centering pin) and a hard carrying case. These cutters are resharpened when dull, extending the total value of the set over time.
This set is suited for licensed electricians, ironworkers, pipefitters, and general trade contractors who regularly drill clean, burr-free holes in structural steel, tube steel, or steel plate. The 3/4-inch Weldon shank makes these cutters compatible with most small magnetic drill presses and, with the correct arbor, larger magnetic drill presses as well. The six included sizes cover the most common hole diameters encountered in commercial and industrial structural work. The set is manufactured in Germany and arrives ready for immediate jobsite use.
Designed for use in mild steel applications with magnetic drill presses accepting a 3/4-inch Weldon shank. Compatible centering pin: 49-59-0011.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified trade professionals familiar with magnetic drill press operation. Secure the magnetic drill base firmly to the workpiece before beginning any cut, and ensure the workpiece is grounded or clamped to prevent movement. Always apply cutting oil to the cutter during use to reduce heat and extend tool life. Disengage power and allow the cutter to come to a complete stop before adjusting, removing, or inspecting the cutting tool.
