The MILWAUKEE 48-89-4811 is a titanium-coated jobber-length drill bit engineered for use with both standard drills and impact drivers. Built under the SHOCKWAVE Impact Duty platform, this bit features a RED HELIX variable-helix geometry that starts at a 35-degree angle and transitions to 15 degrees, accelerating chip evacuation and reducing heat buildup during continuous drilling. The 135-degree split point tip starts on contact without walking, supporting fast and accurate hole placement. Titanium surface treatment extends service life compared to standard black oxide bits. Licensed trade professionals and experienced tradespeople use this bit across metal, wood, and general jobsite drilling applications.
This drill bit is suited for residential and commercial jobsite work where metric-sized holes are required. The SHOCKWAVE shank design transfers torque from impact drivers without fracturing the bit under high-cycle loading. The variable helix geometry and integrated chip breaker are particularly useful in applications where bit heat and clogging shorten tool life, such as repetitive drilling in sheet metal, structural steel, or multilayer materials.
Designed as an OEM-specification SHOCKWAVE Impact Duty drill bit compatible with standard drill chucks and hex-shank impact drivers used in general trade and construction applications.
Install into a properly rated drill or impact driver with a compatible chuck or hex receiver before operation. Ensure the workpiece is secured before drilling to prevent movement. Follow applicable OSHA and jobsite safety requirements for personal protective equipment when drilling metal or structural materials. Inspect the bit tip before each use and remove from service if the split point or coating shows significant wear.
