The MILWAUKEE 48-89-2214 is a titanium-coated jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-demand drilling on the job site. The titanium coating reduces heat build-up to extend bit life compared to standard uncoated bits. A thicker-than-standard web core resists side-load breakage, while the parabolic flute geometry clears chips quickly to keep the bit running cool. The 135-degree split point tip starts drilling on contact and prevents the bit from walking, even on curved surfaces. Each package includes two bits. This bit measures 6.75 inches in length and weighs 0.06 pounds.
This bit is suited for use in residential and commercial construction, mechanical trades, and general fabrication work. It drills through wood, metal, and PVC with reduced effort compared to standard jobber bits. The reduced shank diameter allows use in 3/8-inch drill chucks, and the 3-flat shank geometry prevents slipping in the chuck during operation. Portable drill users working on framing, conduit, pipe, or rough-in tasks will find this bit appropriate for repeated, high-volume hole-making applications.
Designed for use with portable electric drills equipped with 3/8-inch or larger keyed or keyless chucks. Suitable for drilling wood, metal, and PVC in general trade and construction applications.
Installation of this drill bit should be performed by a qualified tradesperson familiar with rotary drilling tools and safe drill press or portable drill operation. Always secure the workpiece before drilling and ensure the chuck is fully tightened on all three flats of the shank before operation. Wear appropriate eye protection when drilling metal or PVC. Reduce feed pressure when breaking through material to prevent bit grab or workpiece movement.
