The MILWAUKEE 48-89-2205 is a titanium-coated jobber-length drill bit engineered for tradespeople who need extended performance across wood, metal, and PVC. Each bit features a thicker-than-standard web core for increased strength and resistance to side-load breakage. The titanium coating reduces heat buildup and preserves edge sharpness to extend usable life by up to three times compared to standard high-speed steel bits. A 135-degree split-point tip starts on contact without walking, and the parabolic flute geometry evacuates chips quickly to keep operating temperatures low. This pack includes two bits, each measuring 5.5 inches in length.
This drill bit is suited for general-purpose jobsite use by electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and other tradespeople who need consistent performance when drilling through wood framing, sheet metal, conduit, and PVC pipe or fittings. The reduced shank diameter allows use in 3/8-inch chucks, making these bits compatible with a wide range of portable corded and cordless drills commonly found on job sites. The 3-flat secure-grip shank minimizes slipping in the chuck under load. Particularly effective when drilling on curved or irregular surfaces where bit walking is a concern.
Designed for use with portable corded and cordless drills equipped with 3/8-inch or larger chucks. Suitable for drilling wood, metal, and PVC.
These bits are installed and removed by a licensed or journeyman-level tradesperson using a standard keyed or keyless drill chuck. Ensure the drill is powered off and the trigger is locked out before changing bits. Inspect each bit for cracks or dullness before use and replace any bit that shows signs of damage. Follow applicable jobsite safety protocols when drilling into energized panels or pressurized systems.
