The MILWAUKEE 48-89-2202 is a titanium-coated jobber-length drill bit sold in a 2-pack, built for trade professionals who need consistent performance across wood, metal, and PVC. The Thunderbolt web design uses a thicker core than a standard drill bit to resist side-load breakage during demanding jobsite use. A titanium coating reduces heat build-up and extends cutting edge life, while a parabolic flute form evacuates chips rapidly to keep the bit running cool. At 5.5 inches in total length, these bits are sized for general-purpose drilling with portable drills.
Designed for use in residential and light commercial construction, mechanical, and electrical rough-in work, the 48-89-2202 handles common boring tasks through wood framing, sheet metal, conduit, and PVC pipe or fittings. The 135-degree split point tip starts on contact without center-punching and prevents walking on curved or slick surfaces. The 3-flat shank locks firmly in most drill chucks and the reduced shank diameter allows use in 3/8-inch chucks, making these bits compatible with a wide range of portable drills already on the truck.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber-length drill bit for use with portable corded and cordless drills equipped with 3/8-inch or larger keyed or keyless chucks. Suitable for drilling wood, metal, and PVC.
Secure the 3-flat shank firmly in the drill chuck before use to prevent slipping under torque. When drilling metal, use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant to further reduce heat and extend bit life. Allow the bit to cool between extended drilling sequences to preserve the titanium edge coating. Inspect the cutting tip for wear regularly and replace when the split point shows signs of rounding or chipping.
