The MILWAUKEE 48-32-4605 is a 1-inch impact insert bit designed for use with impact drivers in high-torque fastening applications. Built from alloy steel with a black phosphate finish, this bit features a No. 2 square recessed point and a 1/4-inch hex shank for quick-change compatibility with standard impact drivers. The square recessed tip geometry is machined for a precise fit that minimizes wobble and reduces the risk of cam-out or fastener stripping during driving. This is a single insert-style bit suited for repetitive fastening tasks where bit changes are frequent.
This insert bit is used in residential and light commercial construction, cabinetry, decking, and general fastening work wherever No. 2 square drive fasteners are specified. The compact 1-inch overall length makes it well suited for use in tight spaces and bit holders. Electricians, carpenters, and general contractors commonly use square recessed bits when working with Robertson-head screws in wood framing, electrical boxes, and fixture installation.
Designed as an OEM-style insert bit for use with any 1/4-inch hex quick-change chuck impact driver or drill accepting standard 1-inch insert bits.
Insert bits should be seated fully into a bit holder or quick-change chuck before use to prevent slipping under torque. Ensure the impact driver is set to an appropriate torque or drive mode for the fastener material to avoid overdriving. Inspect the bit tip regularly for wear or deformation and replace when fit becomes loose, as a worn tip increases the risk of fastener head damage.
