The MILWAUKEE 48-27-0681 is a flat boring bit designed to drill clean, fast holes in wood, plastic, plywood, and Formica. Built from heat-treated high carbon steel, the bit maintains a sharp drill point and cutting edges through repeated use and can be resharpened to extend service life and reduce tooling costs. The 11/16 inch cutting diameter and 6 inch drilling depth cover the majority of residential and light commercial boring tasks. A 3/16 inch shank diameter fits standard drill chucks. Electricians, carpenters, and general contractors reach for flat boring bits when running wire, pipe, or fasteners through wood framing members or composite panels.
The 48-27-0681 is suited for boring small-diameter holes at any angle in dimensional lumber, plywood, plastic sheet, and Formica. The 6 inch depth handles most single-stud and joist applications. When deeper reach is required, the bit is compatible with a 12 inch extension (Milwaukee 48-28-3350), allowing continuous deep-hole drilling without repositioning. The compact profile and standard shank make it a practical addition to any drill kit used on framing, rough-in, or finish work.
Designed for use with standard drill chucks accepting a 3/16 inch shank. Compatible with Milwaukee 48-28-3350 12 inch extension for extended deep-hole drilling applications.
Install the bit securely into the drill chuck and verify the shank is fully seated before operation. When boring at angles or into composite materials, reduce feed pressure to maintain hole quality and prevent bit deflection. Power down the drill completely before changing bits or attaching an extension. Resharpening should be performed with an appropriate bit-sharpening tool to preserve the original cutting geometry.
