The MILWAUKEE ELECTRIC TOOL CORP 48-27-0621 is a 5/8-inch by 6-inch spade bit engineered for fast, clean hole drilling in wood, plastic, plywood, and Formica. The patented cutting edge geometry speeds up material removal compared to conventional spade bit designs, while the double-wing spurs reduce vibration and guide the bit into smooth, accurate hole formation. The 1/4-inch quick-change hex shank is compatible with all universal Quik Lok extensions, making it a practical choice for carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and other trades that need to bore holes through framing and finish materials at any angle.
This bit is suited for residential and light commercial work where drilling through wood framing, rough lumber, plywood, or plastic panels is required. The extended 6-inch length provides reach for through-framing applications common in electrical rough-in and plumbing rough-in work. Its hex shank design integrates with standard quick-change drill chucks and extension systems, reducing bit swap time on the job.
Designed for use with 1/4-inch quick-change hex chuck drills and all universal Quik Lok extension systems. Suitable for drilling in wood, plastic, plywood, and Formica across a range of portable drill platforms.
Install the hex shank securely into a quick-change chuck or Quik Lok extension before use. Confirm the workpiece is stable and clamped where practical before drilling. When boring through framing near electrical wiring or plumbing lines, follow applicable NEC or IPC clearance requirements. Withdraw the bit periodically on deep cuts to clear chips and reduce heat buildup.
