The core bit cuts only a kerf, and the inside core must be removed by the operator before deeper drilling can occur. It is recommended to use centering bit 48-20-5495 (not included) for improved accuracy. This core bit is compatible with SDS-Max or spline shanks and covers diameters from one and one-half inches to six inches. Available lengths are eleven and three-eighths inches or twenty-two inches, with a maximum drilling depth of three inches. Its asymmetric tooth pitch with alternating geometries accelerates material pulverization, while the thick wall design enhances durability when working with large hammers.
