The MILWAUKEE 48-20-4305 is a spline-shank rotary hammer drill bit built for drilling in brick, block, concrete, and reinforced concrete. The 5/8-inch diameter bit features a 4-cutter head with a 4 x 90-degree tip geometry designed to prevent lock-up when the bit contacts rebar. Patented rebar chamfers extend service life under tough conditions, while a high-volume flute clears debris rapidly to maintain drilling speed. With an overall length of 16 inches and a usable drilling depth of 11 inches, this bit is suited for through-holes and anchor installations in masonry and concrete construction. Installers working with SDS-spline rotary hammers will find it a direct-fit consumable for production drilling.
This bit is intended for use with spline-drive rotary hammers in commercial and residential construction, concrete flatwork, block wall, and brick applications. Typical users include concrete contractors, masonry tradespeople, and general construction crews drilling holes for anchor bolts, conduit sleeves, rebar dowels, and mechanical penetrations. The 4-cutter geometry reduces the likelihood of the bit binding or stalling when it contacts embedded rebar, which is a common issue in reinforced slabs and walls.
Designed for use with spline-drive rotary hammers. Compatible with any rotary hammer accepting a standard spline shank bit interface.
This bit is installed and replaced by concrete and masonry tradespeople using spline-drive rotary hammers. Ensure the hammer is powered off and the bit is fully seated and locked in the chuck before drilling. Wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and hearing protection when operating rotary hammer equipment. Follow applicable OSHA silica dust control requirements when drilling concrete or masonry.
