The MILWAUKEE 48-20-4300 is a 5/8-inch, four-cutter spline shank rotary hammer drill bit designed for aggressive concrete and masonry drilling. The bit uses a 12-spline engagement system that mates with the drive system of a spline-drive rotary hammer, allowing near-direct transfer of impact energy from the hammer to the cutting face. Four carbide nibs are vacuum-brazed to a heat-treated steel body, creating cutting edges that simultaneously pulverize and rotate through concrete. Licensed electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and general contractors use this bit when core-penetrating slabs or masonry walls during rough-in work.
This bit is suited for residential and commercial applications where a spline-drive rotary hammer is already in use. Typical scenarios include drilling anchor bolt holes, conduit or pipe penetrations through concrete block or poured slabs, and equipment-mounting applications in mechanical rooms. The 5/8-inch diameter and 10-inch overall length accommodate standard trade penetration depths in most wall and slab thicknesses. A drilling depth of 5 inches is achievable within the overall 10-inch length, leaving adequate shank engagement in the chuck.
Designed for use with spline-drive rotary hammers that accept a 12-spline shank interface. Milwaukee offers this bit series in diameters ranging from 5/8 inch to 1-1/2 inches, and in metric sizes from 16 mm to 38 mm.
This bit is installed and used by trade professionals operating spline-drive rotary hammers. Before changing bits, disconnect the hammer from its power source or remove the battery pack. Ensure the bit is fully seated and locked in the chuck before beginning drilling. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment including eye protection and hearing protection when operating rotary hammer equipment.
