The MILWAUKEE 48-13-6909 is a Shockwave lineman's impact auger bit engineered for power utility work. It is designed to drill cleaner, faster holes in wooden utility poles and is intended for use with impact drivers equipped with a 7/16 inch hex quick-connect chuck. A single spur design scores the edge of the hole, producing a cleaner bore that allows bolts to pass through without resistance. The bit features a reinforced anti-friction PTFE coating for smoother drilling and easier extraction from dense pole wood. An aggressive feed screw and optimized wide flute geometry combine to pull the bit through material quickly while ejecting chips efficiently to reduce clogging and maintain drilling speed.
This auger bit is built for licensed power utility linemen and electricians working on wooden utility pole installations, cross-arm drilling, and hardware attachment. The solid stemmed core adds structural strength to handle the high torque output of impact drivers. The bit is rated for clean wood only and is not intended for use in treated, wet, or contaminated wood that may compromise cutting performance. It ships as a single piece and is available in 18 inch, 24 inch, and 30 inch lengths to suit varying pole drilling depths.
Designed for use with impact drivers and rotary drills fitted with a 7/16 inch hex quick-connect chuck. Intended for drilling into clean wooden utility poles. Available in 18 inch, 24 inch, and 30 inch lengths.
This bit is installed and used by power utility linemen and electricians performing pole hardware work. Ensure the impact driver or drill is powered off and the chuck is fully disengaged before inserting or removing the bit. Use only in clean, dry wood as specified — do not use in metal, masonry, or treated utility poles. Follow applicable OSHA and NESC guidelines when working on or near energized utility structures.
