The MILWAUKEE 48-13-6905 is a Shockwave lineman impact auger bit engineered for drilling clean, fast holes in wooden utility poles. A single spur design scores the perimeter of the hole, producing a cleaner finish that allows bolts to slide through without resistance. The bit features a reinforced anti-friction PTFE coating for smoother drilling and easier extraction. An aggressive feed screw and cutting edge pull the bit through the material, while optimized wide flute geometry rapidly ejects chips to reduce clogs and increase drilling speed. The solid stemmed core adds structural strength under high-torque impact driver loads. Power utility linemen are the primary installers of this bit.
This bit is designed specifically for use in wooden utility poles and is recommended for clean wood only. The 7/16 inch hex shank provides quick connection into standard 7/16 inch quick-connect chucks compatible with impact drivers. It is sold as a single piece and is available in multiple lengths including 18 inches, 24 inches, and 30 inches, giving linemen flexibility for varying pole drilling depths and access conditions in the field.
Designed for use with impact drivers equipped with a 7/16 inch quick-connect chuck. Intended for drilling into wooden utility poles; recommended for clean wood only.
Installation is performed by qualified power utility linemen following applicable utility and safety standards. Verify the impact driver chuck accepts a 7/16 inch hex shank before use. This bit is intended for clean wood only — do not use in treated, deteriorated, or contaminated pole sections where bit performance and integrity may be compromised. Inspect the bit for wear or damage before each use and replace if the cutting edge or spur shows signs of degradation.
