The MILWAUKEE 48-13-6812 is a SHOCKWAVE Lineman Impact Auger Bit designed for drilling clean, fast holes in wooden utility poles. The bit features a single spur design that scores the edge of the hole for a cleaner finish, allowing bolts to slide through without resistance. A reinforced anti-friction PTFE coating reduces friction during drilling and makes bit removal easier. The solid stemmed core adds structural strength, and the 7/16-inch hex shank connects quickly into standard 7/16-inch quick-connect chucks. This bit is built for power utility lineman work and operates with impact-rated tools.
This auger bit is intended for use by power utility linemen and electrical contractors drilling through wooden utility poles in the field. The aggressive feed screw and cutting edge pull the bit through the material efficiently, while optimized wide flute geometry ejects chips quickly to reduce clogging and maintain consistent drilling speed. This bit is recommended for clean wood only and is not intended for use in treated, laminated, or debris-embedded pole material. Available in 18-inch and 24-inch lengths to suit varying pole access and depth requirements.
Designed for use with impact drivers and right-angle drills equipped with a 7/16-inch quick-connect chuck. Intended for drilling into wooden utility poles. Recommended for clean wood only.
Installation and field use should be performed by qualified power utility linemen following applicable OSHA and utility safety standards. Ensure the impact tool is powered off and the work area is properly de-energized and secured before drilling operations begin. Do not use this bit in material other than clean wood, as embedded hardware or treated materials can damage the cutting edge and reduce bit life.
