The MILWAUKEE 48-13-6804 is a SHOCKWAVE Lineman's Impact Auger Bit engineered for power utility work. Designed specifically for drilling clean, fast holes in wooden utility poles, this bit features a single spur design that scores the edge of the hole for a cleaner finish, allowing hardware to slide through without binding. The reinforced anti-friction PTFE coating reduces friction during drilling and makes bit removal easier. A 5/8 inch cutting diameter and 21 inch flute length make it suited to full-depth pole boring tasks. The solid stemmed core adds structural rigidity under the high torque loads produced by impact-rated drivers.
This bit is intended for power utility linemen and electrical utility contractors drilling through wooden utility poles during line installation, service work, or hardware attachment. The 7/16 inch hex shank connects directly to 7/16 inch quick-connect chucks common on impact drivers and rotary hammers used in the field. The bit is recommended for use in clean wood only and is not designed for use in treated, embedded, or contaminated pole sections where foreign material could damage the cutting edge or feed screw.
Designed for use with impact drivers and rotary tools equipped with a 7/16 inch quick-connect chuck. Recommended for drilling clean wooden utility poles only.
Installation and use of this bit should be performed by qualified power utility linemen or electricians following applicable OSHA and utility safety standards. Ensure the impact driver or drill is powered off and properly secured before attaching or removing the bit from the chuck. Do not use this bit in poles with embedded metal, hardware, or other obstructions that could cause sudden bit stoppage and injury. Inspect the bit for wear or damage before each use and replace if the cutting edge, feed screw, or flute geometry is compromised.
