The MILWAUKEE 48-13-6713 is a SHOCKWAVE Lineman Impact Auger Bit engineered for power utility linemen drilling holes in wooden utility poles. The bit measures 1-1/4 inches in diameter and features a solid-stemmed core for added structural strength under high-torque impact driving. A reinforced anti-friction PTFE coating reduces friction during drilling and makes extraction from the pole significantly easier. The 7/16-inch hex shank connects directly into standard 7/16-inch quick-connect chucks, making it compatible with most impact-rated drivers used in the field.
This bit is designed exclusively for wooden utility pole work in the power utility trade. The aggressive feed screw and cutting edge pull the bit through dense pole wood, while the optimized wide flute geometry rapidly ejects chips to keep the hole clear and prevent clogging. The single spur design scores the perimeter of the hole before the main cutting edge engages, producing a cleaner bore that allows hardware and bolts to pass through without resistance. Recommended for clean wood only. Available in 18-inch and 24-inch lengths to suit varying pole drilling depths.
Designed for use with 7/16-inch quick-connect impact chucks. Intended for drilling into wooden utility poles only. Recommended for clean wood applications.
Installation and use of this bit should be performed by qualified power utility linemen following applicable utility safety standards and work practices. Verify that the impact driver or drill is powered off and the chuck is secured before inserting or removing the bit. Do not use on treated or contaminated wood outside the manufacturer recommendation of clean wood only. Always follow OSHA and utility employer safety protocols when working on or near utility poles.
