The MILWAUKEE 48-13-6712 is a lineman's impact auger bit engineered for drilling clean, fast holes in wooden utility poles. The bit combines an aggressive feed screw with a single spur design that scores the edge of each hole, allowing bolts to slide through without resistance. A reinforced anti-friction PTFE coating reduces friction during drilling and makes bit removal from the pole easier. The solid stemmed core adds structural strength for demanding pole-line work. Installed by power utility linemen, this bit is designed for use with 7/16 inch hex quick-connect impact drill chucks.
This bit targets power utility line work where speed and hole quality directly affect productivity. The optimized wide flute geometry ejects chips quickly to keep the hole clear and reduce clogging during deep pole drilling. The 1-1/8 inch diameter suits standard lineman bolt clearance requirements. Recommended for clean wood only. The bit measures approximately 19.25 inches in length and weighs 1.85 pounds. It is available in 18 inch and 24 inch length options to match different pole drilling depth requirements.
Designed for use with 7/16 inch hex quick-connect impact drill chucks. Recommended for clean wooden utility poles only.
Installation is performed by qualified power utility linemen following applicable utility and safety standards. Ensure the impact drill is powered off and properly secured before changing bits. Use only with impact-rated drills equipped with a 7/16 inch quick-connect chuck. Do not use on treated, embedded hardware, or contaminated wood that could damage the cutting edge or coating.
