The MILWAUKEE 48-13-6711 is a SHOCKWAVE Lineman's Impact Auger Bit engineered for power utility linemen drilling clean, fast holes in wooden utility poles. The bit features a single spur design that scores the edge of the hole before cutting, producing a cleaner bore that allows hardware to pass through without binding. A reinforced anti-friction PTFE coating reduces drilling resistance and makes extraction from dense pole wood significantly easier. The solid stemmed core adds structural strength for demanding impact driver use. The bit ships as a single unit and weighs 1.74 pounds.
This auger bit is designed for power utility line work where clean, precise holes in wooden utility poles are required. The aggressive feed screw and cutting edge pull the bit through wood without forcing, while the optimized wide flute geometry rapidly ejects chips to prevent clogging and maintain drilling speed. The 7/16 in. hex shank provides fast, secure connection to standard 7/16 in. quick-connect impact driver chucks. This bit is recommended for clean wood only and is not intended for use in poles with embedded hardware, metal fasteners, or heavily deteriorated material.
Designed for use with impact drivers equipped with a 7/16 in. quick-connect chuck. Intended for drilling into wooden utility poles. Recommended for clean wood only.
Installation and drilling should be performed by qualified utility linemen or electrical tradespeople following applicable OSHA and utility safety guidelines. Ensure the impact driver is powered off and the work area is de-energized per established lockout/tagout procedures before positioning. Use appropriate personal protective equipment when drilling overhead or on elevated structures. Do not use this bit on material containing embedded hardware, nails, or metal fasteners.
