The MILWAUKEE 48-01-6189 is a 12-inch thin kerf reciprocating saw blade engineered for demanding demo and cutting applications. Built with Matrix II bi-metal construction, the blade combines a hardened high-speed steel tooth edge with a flexible alloy steel body to deliver extended service life under heavy use. A honeycomb Grid Iron pattern throughout the body increases rigidity and resists blade buckling during aggressive cuts. This blade is designed for professional use by contractors, electricians, plumbers, HVAC techs, and demo crews who rely on SAWZALL-style reciprocating saws on the job site.
The 48-01-6189 is suited for general demolition, rough-in cutting, and remodeling work where blade deflection and premature breakage are common problems. The optimized tooth geometry is designed to deliver significantly longer blade life compared to previous-generation SAWZALL blades. The Tough Neck rib design reinforces the blade tang area, reducing stress fractures at the point where blades most commonly fail. Sold as a single blade in pack-unit format with a minimum order quantity of one.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement blade for use with standard reciprocating saws accepting universal shank reciprocating saw blades.
Reciprocating saw blade replacement should be performed with the tool powered off and unplugged or the battery pack removed before handling the blade. Use the blade clamp or tool-free blade change mechanism per the saw manufacturer instructions. Blades should be inspected before each use and replaced when teeth are worn, cracked, or missing to avoid workpiece damage or loss of tool control.
