The MILWAUKEE 48-01-2714 is a 12-inch, 120 TPI bi-metal reciprocating saw blade engineered for demanding metal cutting applications. Built around a Matrix II bi-metal construction, this blade delivers hardened teeth bonded to a flexible alloy steel body, combining edge retention with resistance to tooth breakage. Three structural features define this blade: a reinforced tang zone that resists breakage at the heel, a stamped honeycomb body pattern that increases overall rigidity, and a 1-inch blade body height that reduces lateral twisting during cuts. Licensed electricians, pipefitters, plumbers, and ironworkers reach for this blade when cutting through conduit, pipe, strut, and structural steel.
This blade is designed for straight, controlled cuts in metal. The 1-inch body height keeps the blade tracking true in the cut without wandering, which matters when working in tight mechanical or electrical rough-in conditions. The high tooth count of 120 TPI is suited for thin-wall tubing, sheet metal, and light structural steel where a coarser blade would snag or strip. It mounts to any standard SAWZALL or compatible reciprocating saw using the universal shank.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and upgrade blade for use with standard reciprocating saws accepting a universal shank mount, including SAWZALL-pattern tools.
Blade installation and removal should be performed with the saw unplugged or the battery removed. Confirm the blade clamp or chuck is fully seated and locked before beginning a cut. Metal cutting with high TPI blades generates heat and fine chips — eye protection and work gloves are standard PPE for this operation. Secure the workpiece before cutting to prevent blade binding or kickback.
