The MILWAUKEE 48-01-2712 is a 6-inch bi-metal reciprocating saw blade engineered for demanding metal-cutting applications. Built on the TORCHA platform, it features a Matrix II bi-metal construction that delivers extended tooth life compared to standard blades. The blade body stands 1 inch tall, a geometry that reduces twisting during cuts and helps maintain straight, accurate lines through sheet metal, pipe, and structural steel. A stamped honeycomb pattern across the blade body, called Grid Iron, increases rigidity and resists buckling under load. This blade is designed for use with SAWZALL reciprocating saws and is installed by HVAC technicians, plumbers, electricians, and general contractors.
This blade is suited for cutting ferrous and non-ferrous metals in both residential and commercial service work. Common applications include cutting conduit, pipe, angle iron, sheet metal, and light structural members. The 6-inch length and 1-inch blade height make it effective in confined spaces where blade control and rigidity matter. The optimized tooth form is designed to extend service life in heavy-duty cutting cycles, reducing blade changes on the job.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement blade compatible with standard SAWZALL-style reciprocating saws accepting universal shank blades.
Blade changes should be performed with the saw unplugged or the battery removed. Ensure the blade is fully seated and locked in the blade clamp before operation. Wear appropriate eye and hand protection when cutting metal. Blade selection should match the material thickness and type per the tool manufacturer recommendations.
