The Milwaukee Electric Tool Corp 48-00-1600 is a 12-inch flush cut reciprocating saw blade engineered for demanding framing and remodel applications. Measuring 12 inches long by 2-1/8 inches wide with a 0.062-inch blade thickness, this blade is built around a set of purpose-driven geometry features that address the most common failure points in bottom plate and window cut-out work. The Floor Guard shields teeth from floor contact during bottom plate cuts, and the unique blade geometry reduces the risk of damage from floor impacts. A Fang Tip design enables fast, controlled plunge cutting for window openings. Carpenters, framers, and remodeling contractors are the primary users.
This blade is suited for residential and light commercial framing, remodel, and rough carpentry tasks. It excels at bottom plate cut-outs, window rough opening cuts, and cutting through stud and joist assemblies that may contain embedded nails. The Double Truss design guides the blade for straighter window cut-outs, reducing blade wander during extended cuts. The Nail Guard design protects against tooth fracture when the blade contacts nails between studs or joists, making it a practical choice for demolition and renovation work where mixed materials are common.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit blade for reciprocating saws accepting universal shank reciprocating saw blades, commonly used in framing and remodel applications.
Installation of reciprocating saw blades should be performed with the tool unplugged or the battery pack removed before blade changes. Confirm the blade clamp or chuck mechanism is fully engaged before operating the saw. When performing bottom plate cut-outs near finished flooring, inspect the cut line and use appropriate depth control to avoid unintended substrate damage. Follow applicable jobsite safety practices and wear appropriate PPE including eye protection.
