The MILWAUKEE 2917-20 is a cordless M18 FUEL SDS Max rotary hammer designed for heavy-duty concrete drilling and chiseling on commercial and industrial jobsites. Powered by an 18-volt REDLITHIUM battery platform and driven by a brushless motor, it delivers 6 ft-lb of impact energy at up to 3,300 blows per minute and a no-load speed of 488 RPM. The 1-9/16-inch SDS Max chuck accepts standard SDS Max bits for large-diameter core drilling, anchoring, and demolition work. At 18-3/4 inches in overall length, the D-handle configuration gives operators balanced control during extended use. Licensed electricians, concrete contractors, and commercial construction crews are the primary installers of this tool.
The 2917-20 is well-suited for large-bore concrete drilling, anchor setting, and surface preparation in both new construction and renovation work. It integrates AUTOSTOP Enhanced Kickback Control to limit over-rotation events and an AVS Anti-Vibration System to reduce operator fatigue during prolonged drilling cycles. VACLINK wireless dust control technology allows compatible dust extractors and vacuums to activate automatically from the tool, supporting OSHA silica dust requirements on commercial sites. ONE-KEY compatibility enables inventory tracking and tool management across connected jobsites.
Compatible with the M18 REDLITHIUM battery platform, including the REDLITHIUM HIGH OUTPUT XC8.0 and REDLITHIUM FORGE HD12.0 battery packs. Accepts standard SDS Max tooling. VACLINK dust control function requires a compatible Milwaukee dust extractor or vacuum.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified tradespeople familiar with rotary hammer procedures and applicable site safety requirements. Disconnect or power down the battery pack completely before changing bits, chisels, or accessories. Confirm the chuck locking mechanism is fully engaged before operation. When drilling near embedded conduit, rebar, or post-tension cable, verify structural drawings before commencing.
