The MILWAUKEE 2579-20 is a cordless M12 stick transfer pump designed for removing water from catch basins, water meter boxes, trenches, and sump pump pits. The 36-inch submersible aluminum barrel extends reach to the bottom of deep trenches and confined spaces where conventional pumps cannot access. HydroPass filter technology provides 360-degree filtration to maintain flow in heavy debris conditions and reduce clogging downtime. Powered by the M12 battery platform, the pump operates one-handed with a slide switch, freeing the other hand to manage outflow. It delivers up to 9 gallons per minute and a 15-foot maximum head height, pushing water over walls and out of pits to the desired discharge location.
This transfer pump is suited for plumbers, utility contractors, and service technicians working in residential and commercial applications. Typical use scenarios include dewatering trenches during pipe installation, clearing water meter boxes, and evacuating sump pits before service work. The outlet is compatible with a standard 3/4-inch garden hose, making it easy to direct discharge without specialized fittings. On a single M12 REDLITHIUM XC4.0 battery, the pump can move up to 275 gallons, reducing the need for frequent battery swaps during continuous dewatering tasks.
Compatible with all M12 REDLITHIUM batteries. Pumps up to 275 gallons on a single M12 REDLITHIUM XC4.0 battery.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified plumber or utility technician familiar with dewatering equipment. Always power down or remove the battery before inspecting the filter or clearing debris from the inlet. Ensure the discharge hose is secured and directed to an approved drainage location before starting the pump. Do not submerge above the rated depth or operate without the filter assembly in place.
