The Milwaukee 2217-20 is a heavy-duty digital True RMS multimeter built for professional residential, commercial, and industrial electrical work. True RMS measurement delivers accurate readings on both sinusoidal and non-sinusoidal waveforms, making it reliable for modern variable-frequency drives, lighting controls, and other complex loads. The meter is rated CAT III 600 volts and meets UL safety specifications. It features rugged over-molding for durability and grip, a large white-on-black display for clear readings in low-light conditions, and an over-molded dial designed for one-handed operation. A slide rail system accepts proprietary accessories for expanded functionality.
This multimeter is suited for licensed electricians, HVAC technicians, and instrumentation professionals working across residential service panels, commercial electrical systems, and light industrial installations. It handles the diagnostic and measurement tasks typical of daily field use, including voltage verification, continuity checks, and load analysis. The CAT III 600V safety rating covers measurements in fixed installations such as distribution boards, circuit breakers, and wiring systems, giving field techs the protection class required in those environments.
The 2217-20 is compatible with Milwaukee proprietary slide rail accessories. Included accessories: one True RMS multimeter, one electrical test lead set, one dual banana thermocouple, two AA batteries, and one operator manual.
This meter is intended for use by qualified electricians and instrumentation technicians. De-energize and lock out circuits before connecting or disconnecting test leads whenever the work scope permits. Follow NFPA 70E arc flash and shock hazard protocols when working on energized equipment. Do not exceed the CAT III 600V input rating; exceeding rated measurement categories creates a serious shock and arc-flash hazard.
