The MIFAB MI-G-2-T-PH is a hydromechanical grease interceptor engineered for commercial plumbing systems where grease-laden waste must be separated before entering the sanitary drain line. Built from 10-gauge fabricated steel with a sanitary powder epoxy coating applied inside and out, this unit handles a flow rate of 10 gallons per minute (gpm) and provides a grease holding capacity of 20 pounds. The FIP connection type simplifies integration into standard threaded pipe systems. Licensed plumbers and commercial plumbing contractors are the primary installers of this equipment in commercial kitchen and food service environments.
This interceptor is designed for under-sink or below-fixture installation in commercial settings such as restaurants, cafeterias, hotels, and institutional kitchens. It is suited for applications requiring a compact, hydromechanical solution that meets local authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements for grease control. The MI-G series spans flow ratings from 4 to 50 gpm and grease holding capacities from 8 to 100 pounds, making individual units scalable to the demands of the installation site. Where a 10 gpm rated unit is specified, the MI-G-2-T-PH fills that role directly.
Designed as an OEM-style hydromechanical grease interceptor within the MIFAB MI-G series for commercial plumbing drain systems requiring grease separation at a 10 gpm flow rating.
Installation must be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and confirm the drain line is depressurized before making any connections. Verify that the interceptor is installed level and that inlet and outlet FIP connections are properly threaded and sealed to prevent leaks. Regular inspection and cleaning intervals should be established per AHJ requirements to maintain rated grease holding capacity.
