The Midwest Electric Products r281cb1 is a 200-amp, single-phase, metered ringless surface-mount power outlet panel designed for service entrance applications. Built from G90 galvanized steel with a zinc-coated finish, this unit carries a NEMA 3R outdoor enclosure rating and UL approval. It operates at 120/240 volts and is factory assembled and wired to reduce installation time on the job. The cabinet measures 14-3/8 inches wide, 4-3/4 inches deep, and 28-5/8 inches tall. Licensed electricians install this type of equipment wherever utility power enters a building or structure as required by the National Electric Code.
The r281cb1 is suited for single-family residential and mobile home service entrance installations requiring surface mounting. It accepts a wide range of wire sizes across its connection points: 6 to 350 KCMIL stranded copper or aluminum at the line meter socket, 1 to 4 AWG stranded copper or aluminum at the load base lug and neutral A position, 6 to 2/0 AWG stranded copper or aluminum at neutral/ground B, and 14 to 8 AWG solid or 14 to 4 AWG stranded copper at neutral/ground C positions. The first position circuit breaker type is the CB4200H. This flexibility accommodates varying service configurations common in residential service entrance work.
Designed for surface-mount service entrance installations on single-family residences and mobile homes. First position circuit breaker type is CB4200H. Applicable standards include NEMA and NEC.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electric Code and applicable local codes. Confirm that utility power is disconnected and locked out at the meter before beginning service entrance work. Surface-mount the enclosure to a solid structural backing capable of supporting the cabinet weight and incoming conduit loads. Do not energize the unit until all wiring connections are inspected and the meter socket cover is properly secured.
