The MIDEA dlfuaah18xak is a variable speed air handler designed for residential and light commercial HVAC installations. It features a factory-installed electronic expansion valve (EEV) and an EC (electronically commutated) variable speed motor with a dedicated dehumidification mode for enhanced humidity control. Each unit is tested and certified by the manufacturer to achieve a 2% or less leakage rate at 1.0 inch water column, meeting tight efficiency and performance standards. Licensed HVAC technicians install this unit as the indoor component of a split system, connecting it to a matched outdoor condensing unit.
The dlfuaah18xak is suited for residential and light commercial split-system installations where multi-position flexibility and dehumidification capability are required. Its multi-position (4-way) design allows installation in upflow, downflow, horizontal left, or horizontal right orientations, adapting to a wide range of mechanical room configurations. The unit is compatible with 24-volt thermostats and also supports communicating control wiring, giving installers the option to use either conventional or communicating system setups. Field-installed electric heater packages ranging from 5 kW to 25 kW are available as accessories for applications requiring supplemental or primary electric heat.

Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes and the manufacturer's installation instructions. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power to the system before beginning any service or installation work. The multi-position cabinet must be properly oriented and sealed before connecting refrigerant lines and electrical connections. If a field-installed heater package is added, verify that the electrical supply circuit is sized appropriately for the selected kW rating per NEC requirements.
