The MICRO 100 QSPD-375-090X is a solid carbide spotting drill designed to accurately locate and start holes before a follow-up twist or gun drill operation. Built to a 90-degree point angle with a 0.375 inch cutting diameter and a 2.5 inch overall length, this tool establishes a precise, consistent center point that reduces walking and improves positional accuracy in production and job-shop environments. The AlTiN coating provides elevated heat resistance and extended tool life when running at high spindle speeds. A web-thinned design reduces thrust load at entry. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators working in metal fabrication and precision machining are the primary users.
The QSPD-375-090X is suited for spotting operations in steel, stainless, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous alloys in both production and prototype settings. The 0.375 inch Micro-Quik shank accommodates compatible Micro 100 quick-change tooling systems, making it a practical choice for high-mix CNC machining centers where fast tool changes matter. The right-hand cut, spiral flute geometry supports standard spindle rotation on vertical and horizontal machining centers. Its 1.0 inch flute length is appropriate for shallow spotting depths typical of the application.
Designed for use with Micro 100 QSPD series quick-change tooling systems. Verify shank compatibility with your specific quick-change adapter or collet chuck before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator following shop safety protocols. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and machine is in a safe state before loading or unloading the tool. Seat the Micro-Quik shank fully in the compatible holder and confirm positive lock engagement before running. Follow the tool manufacturer and machine builder guidelines for appropriate speeds and feeds for the workpiece material.
