The MICRO 100 QIT-180750X is a solid carbide internal single point threading tool designed for cutting internal threads on CNC lathes and turning centers. It handles a minimum thread diameter of 0.18 inches and covers a thread pitch range of 27 to 56 TPI, making it well-suited for fine-pitch internal threading operations. The tool features a 60-degree profile angle, a 0.75-inch cutting depth, and a 0.25-inch round shank with an overall length of 2 inches. An AlTiN coating improves heat resistance and wear life in dry or semi-dry cutting environments. Machinists and CNC operators use this tool when threading small-bore internal features that require consistent geometry and tight tolerances.
This threading tool is intended for internal thread-cutting applications on small-diameter bores in ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. It is a strong fit for production turning environments where fine-pitch threads are common, such as hydraulic fittings, medical components, and precision instrument housings. The 0.04-inch projection from the edge and solid carbide construction provide rigidity and predictable tool life in repetitive cycle operations. No coolant-through capability is present, so external coolant or air blast should be used to manage chip evacuation and heat at the cutting zone.
Designed for use in CNC lathes and turning centers equipped with 0.25-inch collet holders or compatible toolholders that accept a 0.25-inch round shank single point threading insert-style tool.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling specialist. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the turret is in a safe index position before mounting or removing the tool. Verify shank seating and runout before commencing threading cycles. Chip evacuation is critical on internal operations with no coolant-through capability, so confirm external coolant or air blast is directed at the cutting zone prior to running production cycles.
