The MICRO 100 QBB-120500X is a solid carbide boring bar designed for precision internal boring operations on metalworking lathes and machining centers. It features a 0.12-inch minimum bore diameter, a maximum bore depth of 0.5 inches, and a 3/16-inch shank diameter, making it well suited for tight-tolerance small-bore work. The right-hand cutting direction and 0.003-inch corner radius support clean, accurate finishes in small bores where tool rigidity and geometry are critical. Solid carbide construction provides the stiffness and wear resistance needed for consistent performance in production and job-shop environments.
This boring bar is intended for small-bore internal turning applications in precision machining. With an overall length of 1.5 inches and a shank diameter of 3/16 inches, it fits compact tool holders used on small lathes, CNC turning centers, and manual engine lathes. It is appropriate for machinists working with tight bore tolerances in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where carbide rigidity minimizes deflection and chatter.
Designed as a small-bore internal turning tool for use in compatible 3/16-inch shank boring bar holders on manual and CNC lathes or turning centers.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Ensure the shank is clamped securely in a compatible tool holder with adequate stick-out minimized to reduce deflection. Follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines for tool holder torque and setup procedures. Inspect the cutting edge before use and handle carbide tooling carefully to avoid chipping.
