The MICRO 100 ER16-079 is an ER16 series collet designed for precision workholding in CNC machining centers, milling machines, and high-speed spindle applications. It accepts tooling with a 2.00mm (0.0787 inch) shank diameter and holds a total indicator runout (TIR) of 0.0004 inch (0.0100mm), making it suitable for close-tolerance boring, drilling, reaming, and light milling operations. Machinists and toolroom technicians install this collet into compatible ER16 collet chucks or toolholders. The collet weighs 0.1 pounds and does not feature through-coolant capability.
This collet is used in production and job-shop environments wherever an ER16 collet chuck is employed. It is well-suited for holding small-diameter end mills, drills, reamers, and taps in precision machining setups. The 2.00mm bore size targets fine tooling common in mold-making, medical component machining, and electronics manufacturing. A licensed machinist or toolroom technician performing routine tool changes or setups will typically select and install this collet.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard ER16 collet chucks and toolholders accepting 2.00mm bore collets.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Always power down and lock out the spindle before seating or removing any collet. Ensure the collet and chuck taper surfaces are clean and free of chips or coolant residue before assembly. Torque the collet nut according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications using the appropriate spanner wrench.
