The MICRO 100 BT-8 is a single-point box turning tool bit designed for internal turning operations on lathes and machining centers. Built with a solid carbide tip, it delivers the rigidity and wear resistance needed for precision boring and box turning in production and toolroom environments. The shank measures 0.5 x 0.5 inches with an overall length of 2.5 inches, making it a compact, direct-fit option for standard tool holders. Right-hand cutting direction suits conventional lathe setups. Machinists and tool-and-die technicians are the primary users for this style of cutting tool.
The BT-8 is suited for internal box turning applications where close tolerances and clean surface finishes are required. It fits standard BT-style tool bit holders and is appropriate for use on manual lathes, CNC turning centers, and gang-tool setups in both job shop and production environments. The 0.375-inch tip length and 0.45-inch tip width support controlled material removal in confined bore geometries.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and direct-fit tool bit for BT-style single-point tool bit holders accepting a 0.5 x 0.5 inch shank.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tool-and-die technicians. Power down and lock out the machine before seating or removing tool bits from the holder. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the set screw or clamping mechanism is properly torqued per the tool holder manufacturer specifications before resuming machine operation. Inspect the carbide tip for chipping or wear before each use.
