The METALCRAFT 90826 is a 90-degree adjustable elbow fitting designed for sheet metal ductwork installations in residential and light commercial HVAC systems. Fabricated from 26-gauge steel with a hot-dipped galvanized finish, this elbow provides corrosion resistance and structural integrity in forced-air supply and return air applications. The adjustable design allows the installer to dial in the precise angle needed to route duct runs around obstructions or transition between offset plenums and branch runs. At 8 inches in diameter, it fits standard round duct of the same size. HVAC sheet metal mechanics and ductwork installers are the primary trade using this fitting.
This fitting is suited for 8-inch round duct systems in low-pressure forced-air heating and cooling applications. It is commonly installed in residential new construction, retrofit, and replacement duct runs where a 90-degree directional change is required. The hot-dipped galvanized steel construction makes it appropriate for attic, crawlspace, and basement installations where moisture exposure is a consideration. It is part of the 90 Series line of adjustable elbows.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-construction fitting for 8-inch round duct systems in residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC applications.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians or qualified sheet metal mechanics. The duct system should be depressurized and the air handler or furnace powered down before modifying any duct section. Secure all connections with sheet metal screws and seal with UL 181-listed duct mastic or foil tape per local mechanical code requirements. Do not compress or deform the elbow body during installation, as this can restrict airflow and affect system performance.
