The METABO 629472000 is a Type 27 zirconia alumina flap disc from the Flapper Plus series, designed for aggressive grinding and blending on steel and stainless steel surfaces. At 4.5 inches in diameter with a 5/8-11 threaded arbor hole, it mounts directly to standard angle grinders without an adapter. The disc carries a 60-grit coarse abrasive bonded to a fiberglass backing, allowing it to flex slightly over contoured surfaces while maintaining stock removal. Rated to 13,300 RPM, it suits the output of most 4.5-inch grinders. Fabricators, pipefitters, and metalworkers use this disc for weld blending, edge deburring, and surface preparation on ferrous and stainless workpieces.
The 629472000 is intended for metalworking applications in fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and field work where both carbon steel and stainless steel are encountered. The Type 27 flat profile keeps the grinding face parallel to the work surface, making it effective for flat stock, weld beads, and flush grinding. The zirconia alumina abrasive self-sharpens during use, extending disc life compared to standard aluminum oxide alternatives. This disc is sold individually but requires a minimum order quantity of 5 units.
Designed for use on angle grinders with a 4.5-inch wheel capacity and a 5/8-11 spindle thread. Suitable for material applications on steels and stainless steel.
Install only on angle grinders rated for 4.5-inch discs with a spindle speed not exceeding the disc maximum of 13,300 RPM. Ensure the grinder is unplugged or the battery is removed before mounting or removing the disc. Use the appropriate wrench to secure the disc per the grinder manufacturer torque procedure — do not over-tighten by hand alone. Always inspect the disc for cracks or damage before use, and wear appropriate face protection when grinding.
