The MERSEN TR60R is a Class RK5, time-delay, dual-element fuse rated at 60 amps and 250 volts AC (also rated 250 volts DC). It belongs to the TR-R series and features a cylindrical body sized at 3 inches in length by 13/16 inch in diameter. The non-indicating design provides overcurrent protection in branch-circuit and equipment-protection applications. Its dual-element construction tolerates temporary inrush currents without nuisance tripping while still responding quickly to sustained overloads and short circuits. Interrupt ratings are 200 kA at 250V AC and 20 kA at 250V DC. Licensed electricians and industrial maintenance technicians install this fuse in rejection-style fuse blocks to prevent substitution of lower-rated devices.
This fuse is suited for residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical systems where Class RK5 overcurrent protection is required. Typical applications include motor branch circuits, HVAC equipment disconnects, and control panel feeders that need time-delay characteristics to ride through motor starting inrush. The TR60R fits rejection-style fuse block series, including the 2HKRFB fuse block series. It is part of the Mersen TR-R series and carries CSA and UL listings, making it appropriate for installations governed by the NEC.
The TR60R is compatible with rejection-style fuse block series 2HKRFB. It is a direct equivalent to Bussmann FRN-R, Edison ECNR, and Littelfuse FLNR series fuses of the same ampere and voltage rating within the Class RK5 designation.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit before removing or installing any fuse. Verify that the fuse block is rated for rejection-style Class RK5 fuses before installation. Do not install this fuse in a non-rejection holder, as the physical rejection feature is a code-required safety mechanism.
