The Mersen R422 fuse reducer allows the use of lower rated fuses in existing equipment that has clips with higher ampere ratings. This function enhances circuit protection by permitting a close match between fuse ratings and the electrical demands of devices. For example, it allows renewable or one-time fuses feeding a motor to be replaced with fuses that are sized to align more closely with the motor's nameplate current.
- Class H, K, or R fuses fit in Class H or K clips with non-rejection reducers.
- Only Class R or Class J fuses fit their respective clips with rejection-type reducers.
- Designed for 600 volts and up to 400 amps.
