The MERIT nc01401-32 is a 2-inch Schedule 10, 304/304L stainless steel butt weld long radius 90-degree elbow manufactured to ASTM A403 and ASME SA403 standards. This fitting is designed for welded piping systems where a smooth, low-turbulence directional change is required. The long radius geometry provides a centerline radius equal to 1.5 times the nominal pipe diameter, reducing pressure drop and flow restriction compared to short radius alternatives. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors install this type of fitting in process, industrial, and commercial piping assemblies. The dual 304/304L material certification supports both standard and low-carbon corrosion-resistance requirements.
This elbow is suited for use in stainless steel welded piping systems handling water, chemicals, food-grade fluids, or other media where corrosion resistance is a priority. The butt weld end configuration requires full-penetration groove welds per applicable welding codes, making it appropriate for pressure-rated and sanitary piping installations in commercial and light industrial settings. This fitting is designated non-China origin, which is relevant to project specifications or procurement requirements that mandate domestic or non-China sourcing compliance.
Designed as an OEM-style butt weld fitting compatible with 2-inch Schedule 10 stainless steel pipe systems conforming to ASTM A403 and ASME SA403 specifications.
Installation requires a qualified pipefitter or licensed plumber with stainless steel welding capability. Butt weld fittings must be joined using qualified weld procedures per ASME B31.1, B31.3, or the applicable piping code for the installation. Shut down and depressurize the piping system and purge any hazardous media before cutting or fitting. Do not use carbon steel tools on stainless surfaces without appropriate controls to prevent iron contamination and subsequent corrosion.
