The MERIT BRASS XNL114-2012 is a hex head pipe bushing used to reduce a 1-1/4 inch female threaded port down to a 3/4 inch male threaded connection. It features a male NPT (MNPT) outer thread and a female NPT (FNPT) inner thread, allowing installers to step down pipe sizing within a threaded assembly without additional fittings. Rated at 125 lb, this bushing is machined from brass and carries a rough finish. It is suited for plumbing, HVAC, and light industrial piping applications where a compact, in-line reducer is needed at a threaded joint.
This bushing fits standard NPT-threaded piping systems and is commonly used in residential and light commercial installations. Typical applications include connecting a smaller-diameter supply or branch line to a larger-diameter threaded fitting, valve, or manifold. The brass construction makes it appropriate for water, air, and compatible fluid service lines where corrosion resistance and reliable thread engagement are required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for standard NPT-threaded piping systems in plumbing and HVAC applications.
This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers or HVAC technicians working on threaded piping systems. Shut off and depressurize the supply line before installation. Apply thread sealant tape or pipe dope to the male threads before assembly, and use a wrench on the hex head to achieve a secure, leak-free connection. Work must comply with applicable local plumbing codes and standards such as the International Plumbing Code (IPC).
