The MERIT BRASS XNL106-161612 is a brass pipe reducer tee designed for splitting or combining flow in threaded pipe systems while reducing one branch to a smaller nominal size. It features a 1 x 1 x 3/4 inch nominal configuration with female NPT (FNPT) threads on all three ports and is rated at 125 lb pressure class. The rough brass finish indicates an unpolished, as-cast exterior suitable for concealed or utility installations. Plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in low-to-moderate pressure water, gas distribution, and general service piping systems.
This reducer tee is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications where a main run of 1 inch nominal pipe requires a 3/4 inch branch takeoff. Typical install scenarios include water distribution manifolds, supply line branches, and general-purpose fluid handling systems where threaded connections are specified. The FNPT end style allows direct makeup with standard NPT male-threaded pipe or fittings.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded brass reducer tee for use with standard NPT-threaded pipe and fittings in residential and light commercial plumbing and fluid distribution systems.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off and depressurize the supply line before removing existing fittings or making new connections. Apply thread sealant tape or pipe compound to male NPT threads before makeup. Do not over-torque brass fittings, as the material is softer than iron or steel and susceptible to thread damage.
