The MERIT BRASS XNL106-121208 is a brass pipe reducer tee designed for threaded piping systems in residential and commercial plumbing, HVAC, and gas distribution applications. This fitting connects a 3/4 x 3/4 x 1/2 inch nominal pipe configuration using female National Pipe Taper (FNPT) threads on all three ports. Rated at 125 lb, the fitting is machined from brass with a rough finish and is suited for water, gas, oil, and air service at appropriate pressure ratings. Plumbers and HVAC technicians install this reducer tee when a branch line of smaller diameter must be taken off a main run without adding a separate bushing or coupling.
This reducer tee is used in light-to-medium duty piping systems where a branch reduction is needed inline. The 3/4 inch run ports and 1/2 inch branch port allow a common piping transition in residential water supply, hydronic heating loops, compressed air lines, and fuel gas distribution. The FNPT thread pattern is standard across North American piping systems, making this fitting compatible with a wide range of pipe and valve assemblies in both new construction and retrofit service work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-service fitting for 3/4 x 3/4 x 1/2 inch FNPT threaded piping systems in plumbing, HVAC, and gas distribution applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC, IFGC, or local mechanical codes. Shut off the water or gas supply and depressurize the line completely before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to male threads before assembly and tighten to hand-tight plus wrench-tight without over-torquing the brass fitting body. Do not use this fitting on systems or fluids outside its rated pressure class without verifying material and rating compatibility.
