The MERIT BRASS XNL103A-32 is a 2-inch brass 45-degree street elbow designed for threaded pipe assemblies in plumbing and piping systems. It connects via FNPT on one end and MNPT on the other, allowing a direction change without a separate nipple. Rated at 125 psi (Class 125) and fully lead free, this fitting meets the material requirements for potable water applications. At 2.04 pounds, it is a solid, full-bodied brass fitting suited for permanent installations in both residential and light commercial systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this component.
This street elbow is used in water supply, hydronic heating, and general fluid-conveyance piping wherever a 45-degree directional change is needed at a threaded connection. The street configuration — female on one end, male on the other — lets the fitting thread directly into an adjacent fitting or valve without an intermediate nipple, saving space in tight mechanical rooms, crawlspaces, and equipment closets. It is appropriate for above-ground and in-wall threaded brass piping runs in both residential and commercial installations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 2-inch threaded brass pipe systems rated at Class 125 or lower pressure service.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure completely before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly, and tighten to hand-snug then wrench-tight without over-torquing brass threads. Inspect the joint for leaks after restoring system pressure.
