The MERIT BRASS XNL101-06 is a 90-degree pipe elbow rated at 125 lb, designed to redirect pipe runs in plumbing, gas distribution, and light industrial piping systems. Threaded with female NPT (FNPT) connections on both ends, this fitting accepts 3/8-inch nominal pipe and creates a right-angle change in direction without requiring welding or soldering. Constructed from rough brass, it delivers solid corrosion resistance in water and low-pressure gas applications. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors install this type of fitting in tight spaces where a directional change is needed on small-diameter runs.
This elbow is suited for residential and light commercial installations including domestic water supply lines, compressed air distribution, and low-pressure gas piping. The 3/8-inch nominal FNPT thread pattern allows direct connection to standard male-threaded pipe or fittings. The rough brass finish is typical for buried or concealed applications where appearance is not a requirement. It is appropriate for systems operating within the 125 lb pressure class rating.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting compatible with standard 3/8-inch nominal FNPT-threaded pipe systems rated within the 125 lb pressure class.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC or IFGC code requirements for the intended service. Shut off and depressurize the supply line before removing any existing fittings or making new connections. Apply thread sealant tape or paste rated for the intended media to all male threads before assembly. Do not overtighten threaded brass fittings, as brass is softer than iron and can crack under excessive torque.
