The MERIT BRASS XB114-3220 is a threaded brass pipe bushing designed to reduce a 2-inch female pipe thread connection down to a 1-1/4-inch female pipe thread connection. This Class 125 fitting uses MBSPT x FBSPT end connections and is manufactured from brass for reliable performance in a wide range of fluid handling applications. It is a standard hex bushing style that installs directly into a female-threaded pipe fitting or valve body, making it a common component in plumbing, HVAC hydronic systems, and industrial piping assemblies. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting during new construction and retrofit work.
This bushing is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing systems where a size reduction between two threaded connections is required. Typical applications include water supply lines, low-pressure piping systems, and hydronic heating circuits. The Class 125 pressure rating makes it appropriate for standard domestic water service and similar low-to-moderate pressure fluid systems. It is not intended for steam service or high-pressure industrial applications beyond its rated class.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded brass bushing for use in Class 125 pipe systems requiring a 2-inch to 1-1/4-inch reduction with MBSPT x FBSPT threaded connections.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters. Shut off and depressurize the system fully before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply thread sealant tape or pipe compound to the male threads before assembly in accordance with local plumbing code requirements. Do not over-tighten brass fittings, as brass threads can be damaged by excessive torque.
