The MERIT BRASS XB114-3216 is a brass pipe bushing designed to reduce a 2-inch female pipe thread to a 1-inch female pipe thread in threaded piping systems. The bushing features male BSPT threads on the outer end and female BSPT threads on the inner end, allowing it to be installed directly into a pipe fitting, valve, or manifold. Rated at Class 125, this bushing is suited for moderate-pressure water, gas, and general fluid service applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting as part of a threaded reduction assembly where two pipe sizes must be joined inline.
This bushing is used in residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC hydronic systems, compressed air lines, and industrial fluid distribution where a 2-inch to 1-inch threaded reduction is needed. Its all-brass construction provides corrosion resistance in wet and humid environments. The Class 125 pressure rating makes it appropriate for typical building service piping operating within standard working pressure limits.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for threaded brass piping systems requiring a 2-inch to 1-inch reduction with MBSPT x FBSPT end connections at Class 125.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter. Shut off and depressurize the affected line before installing or replacing any threaded fitting. Apply thread sealant tape or paste appropriate for the service medium to the male threads before assembly. Do not over-torque brass fittings, as brass threads can be damaged by excessive force.
