The MERIT BRASS XB114-2412 is a brass pipe bushing designed to reduce a 1-1/2 inch female threaded port down to a 3/4 inch female threaded connection. It features male BSPT threads on the outer end and female BSPT threads on the inner bore, allowing it to serve as a concentric reducer fitting in threaded piping assemblies. Rated at Class 125, this bushing is suited for low-to-moderate pressure service in water, air, and general fluid systems. Plumbers and pipefitters install it when adapting between two different pipe diameters within a threaded run. The all-brass construction resists corrosion and provides reliable sealing in standard service conditions.
This bushing is used in residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC piping, and general-purpose fluid distribution systems where a threaded size reduction is needed inline. It is appropriate for installations where NPT or BSP threaded fittings are specified and where a durable, corrosion-resistant metal fitting is required. The compact hex body allows wrench engagement for proper tightening without pipe-wrench damage to the fitting body.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for threaded piping systems requiring a 1-1/2 inch to 3/4 inch concentric bushing reduction with MBSPT x FBSPT end connections.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters. Shut off system pressure and drain the line before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly and tighten to a snug, leak-free fit using a wrench on the hex body. Do not over-torque brass fittings, as the material is softer than iron and susceptible to thread damage.
